Quick Review | Sol Republic Relays 3 Button Earphones
These puppies are among the most versatile and comfortable ear phones I have ever seen for the price. As well as sounding great, they will stay snug in your eyes and come with their own mic and remote. The durable shirt clip allows you to keep the wires well out of the way in the gym. Of course, they are also sweat resistant and for some reason require next to no fiddling to sit right in the ears.
I found they fitted so well that after going for a run I forgot they were there. In essence they do exactly what a sports headphone should do, which is stay out of the way when you’re working out! And call me a sensitive soul, if you will, but what I love about these the most is that the fact if you lose one of the rubber ear buds and can’t find it, Sol Republic will ship you new ones free of charge…I don’t know about you, but I think that’s brilliant.
Quick Review | Jaybird Bluebuds X Wireless Earphones
Just take it from me, the audio quality in these is really good for a pair of Bluetooth ear phones. The bass is satisfyingly deep and everything else is clear and crisp. They are also easy to pair with your smartphone, which can be a pain sometimes. They will play for a healthy 8 hours between charges, are sweat resistant, light, and stay exactly where they should in the ear without moving.
That said, they do need a bit of meddling with the first time you wear them. The great news, is you only have to do this once, and once you have them setup to your liking, that’s it for the lifetime of this pair. If you are after wireless in ear headphones you could do a lot worse than buy these.
Quick Review | Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless Earphones
For the price, Jabra’s Sport Pulse would want to be something special. Well, they wouldn’t be on this list if they weren’t, so calm your hearts. They are the best sounding Bluetooth headphones I have ever heard, better even than the JayBird ones above. Again they are wireless so there’s no mucking about with cables and they slide into your ear hole so smoothly you’re actually amazed at how well they stick there.
One downside of the Pulse is the four hour battery life which means you will find yourself charging them a lot. But therein also lies its biggest trick. These headphones also function as a heart rate monitor…that’s right. Finally you can get rid of the chest strap monitor or dedicated sports watch.
The bio-metric data is also supposedly accurate, and who am I to say it isn’t? The Pulse also pairs easily with either Android or iOS, and the little sports app that comes with it is dastardly excellent as well. These are the earphones of choice for those lucky few who happen to have a butler, a Ferrari and a penchant for exercise.
Quick Review | BRAINWAVZ S1 Noise Isolating Earphones
Placing the wired BRAINWAVZ underneath the Jabra Pulse is somewhat unfair, and more than a little harsh. But there is a point to be made here. Not everyone wants to spend a lot of money on earphones. Some people, like me, really do just want a pair of sports headphones and aren’t all that bothered about Bluetooth technology or being able to take phone calls while busting a gut on a cycling machine.
Some people just want a decent pair of in ear headphones that do the job. That’s where the S1 comes in. They cost under £40, give quality sound from the metal housing and are comfortable with a flat cable – eliminating tangled wires. They produce a much better sound than the price tag says it should plus they stay in place with those tangle resistant wires that go over your ear. Adjustable silicone earbuds fit any lug size so you won’t have them falling out, whilst outside noise is blocked out as well. There’s nothing that says you have to have all the gear you know.
Quick Review | Decibullz Contour Custom Moulded Earphones
How about getting your hands on your on fully custom fitted headphones. These headphones actually mould themselves to the exact shape of your ear, and you can do it your own home. That makes them super comfy. You don’t change the actual bud, that stay the same no matter what you do, but the surrounding ‘cuff’ is moulded to fit your own ear. Just stick them in hot water, then squidge them into your ears for a unique (and perfect) fit. And if you don’t get it right first time, you can always remould later, as many time as you want.
It’s one of the best ideas to do with headphones in years. It’s also worth pointing out that this cuts out an awful lot of background noise as well, and the sound quality is itself rather good. The other great news is that for in around the £40 price tag, you’re buying something that would seem affordable at almost double the price.
