BikePark Wales Team Up with ENVE and FOX | Cycling News

By Alex @AllthegearMTB · On October 8, 2015

BikePark Wales have just announced that they’re partnering up with ENVE Composites and Fox to create a one-of-a-kind demo centre for their wheels. The best part? It’s the first of its kind in the UK, and the only ENVE demo centre in Europe.

This means you’ll be able to test out the wheels in three sizes: 26″, 27.5″, and 29″ before even having to consider making a purchase. In case you’re new to bike parks, know that BikePark Wales, located in the heart of South Wales in Merthyr Tydfil, offers one of the best mountain bike park experiences in the UK.

Packed with slopes, trails, and obstacles for all abilities, the park is pretty epic. The daily pass is quite cheap and the highest point in the park (at 491m) can be reached by uplift-minibuses all day for an extra fee, around £30.

ENVE Composites

Who are ENVE?

ENVE Composites? Only one of the leading bike parts manufacturer in the world! Being initially a sponsor for BikePark Wales, ENVE has stepped up their game with a new partnership with the trail centre, offering all potential clients the possibility to test out their parts before purchasing.

Choosing a new set of rims for your bike is difficult, so testing them out on a demo day makes sense. Ash Matthews, the Brand Manager of ENVE in the UK, commented

“This partnership with BikePark Wales is a great opportunity for ENVE. We’ve been fans of what they are doing at the parksince day one. As both a sponsor of the park and a demo artner we have a great opportunity for our customers to test our products on some of the best trails in the UK.

Purchasing a set of ENVE wheels is not something you do every day and we want our customers to be sure they have chosen the perfect product for their riding style. The demo centre at BPW will allow customers to try multiple wheels on their own bike allowing them to be sure they have made the right choice.”

The process of renting these wheels is pretty simple. You pre-book them via the park’s online booking system. Then, once on the website, you select the date that you want (if it’s available, of course) and you’ll be prompted to choose from a current selection of 7 ENVE wheels.

Alongside with the actual wheels, you’ll get full one-to-one assistance throughout the day. You won’t even have to mount and unmount the wheels, it’ll all be taken care of. Not bad! Keep in mind that a full day demo is going to set you back £70, though. Unless you decide to buy the wheel after you test them, in which case, your initial £70 will be refunded.

BikePark Wales

The existing FOX demo centre at Bike Park Wales has also been completely overhauled. That means new forks and new shocks, raising the number to 5 different shocks and 7 different forks, all available for different wheel sizes to test out. If you’re looking to buy new parts from FOX, testing them will cost you £50. As with the ENVE wheels, you get your demo money back if you make a purchase afterwards.

Martin Astley, director at BPW, added

“We are lucky enough to be working with some of the greatest brands in mountain biking here at BikePark Wales. FOX and Mojo have been with us since day one and we have been running a grass roots demo programme with them since we opened two years ago.

Along with our fleet of flagship Trek rental bikes we already had a good demo offering. The addition of ENVE as both a sponsor of the park and a demo partner along with an expanded and improved demo stock from FOX and the new online booking system must surely make us one of, if not the best place in the UK to try before you buy.”

About Me

I’m Alex, creeping through my mid twenties and hail from the lovely (rainy) English county of West Yorkshire. I loved riding when I was a young kid but only revisited mountain biking seriously in my late teens. On returning, the evolution of the scene left me baffled as I tried to get back on the saddle.

Downhill, Freeride…Enduro? What happened to just riding your bike, does it really need to be categorized?
